Both of them are lost when they meet. Everything is seen through the eyes of Golaud. With him the spectator explores the scenery and Mélisande as a cryptic character, as a mysterious woman. Golaud is replaced by the camera. His view is splitted. On the one side is the real scenery in wich he moves, on the other side is his desire which drives him on to approach Mélisande. The closer he moves the situation reveals itself to be insufferable. And that is what will happen between Mélisande and himself throughout the story of the opera. The reinterpretation of the music works with elements from the original opera. These elements were reassembled and digitally alienated.
